Products like the Pilot 1000 may technically not be smartphones but they deserve credit for popularizing the phone apps and features that cater to enterprise users. The use of 16MHz processing power and a grand total of 128kb of memory spawned the entire PDA industry.

During the 90s, the Nokia 9110 Communicator introduced a grayscale screen with no real web browsing ability. Its creative flip-out keyboard design served as the ancestor of popular slider smartphones like the Motorola Droid. In that same decade, the Canadian company named Research in Motion (RIM) entered the mobile phone market with the BlackBerry 5810 device, a phone with email and web browsing capability.

For the past decades, the video gaming industry has not been crippled by the any economic crisis. Raking billions of dollars in annual revenue, video games are more than just a fad or hobby. They became part of many people’s lives. From its shaky and unpredictable beginnings to its multi-billion dollar technology, the massive interest and continuing fascination for video game products are here to stay.

Video games were spawned from 1940’s tic-tac-toe, using university mainframes as inspiration. Through 1950s, the advent of arcade system, home console and joysticks paved the way for the Galaxy Game arcade machine installed at the student union building at Stanford University. With the creation of colored television sets, color arcade systems were introduced in 1979. From this point, the games became commercialized.
